46RE 2nd Gear Shifting Problem
99 Dodge Durango 5.9 v8 magnum, 46RE trans., 4x4
The vehicle will shift into second gear in the manual 1 &2 gear but not in drive. In drive it will shift into 2nd gear for about 1-3 seconds depending on throttle pedal position, the lower the throttle is the slower it will take to shift into 3rd, but still only take a few seconds and will not downshift into second. A little over half a year ago I received codes for the gov. pressure solenoid and tq lockup. I bought a solenoid kit off of ebay from USA Industries, fairly cheap due to a lack of funds at the time. It came with the gov. sol., tq lockup sol., and the shift solenoids. I can't recall whether the vehicle started shifting funny right after I replaced the solenoids or later on.
I believe I'm going to have to tear in the transmission pan again but I would like to ask for any insight on what i should look for and if the cheapo solenoids may be fault, I have heard a few people recommend only Mopar solenoids.
