Security issue.
Hi all.
I replaced the blower resistor today. I replaced both the resistor, and the plug. I followed all instructions, disconnected the battery, and triple checked the wiring. Well now it seems I triggered the security system somehow.
With the key out the "security" dash light flashes fast, and constant. When the key is inserted the light slows down to flash once every few seconds. If I turn the key to on, and leave it the alarm will trigger after a few seconds. Luckily locking the door with the remote turned off the alarm, but I can see from outside the security light is still blinking rapidly.
I assume I need to reset the system, but the manual is in the truck, and I don't wanna riak setting off the alarm again at this time of night. On the up side, the blower works now lol.
Reading up on it, I should add more details.
Power locks work.
When I turn the light switch from off to parking lights sometimes nothing will turn on, parking lights or dash. If I move to headlights everything turns on, and switching back to parking lights after that they'll suddenly work.
Audible click when light switch is turned from off to parking. Not sure if it's always done that.
Truck won't crank, and fuel pump don't come on.
Dash appears dead. Dials don't work, and info center is blank.
Sometimes when switched to parking lights from off they'll turn on, then the parking lights and dash turn off a few seconds later.

Small update-
After doing some searching I found people with similar issues found they had battery issues. I've suspected the battery was bad for awhile, so I took it to AutoZone, and had it tested. They tested it 3 times, and it came back good each time. They told me to try cleaning up the terminals, so I have.
I used my multimeter to check all the fuses, and found 1 fuse blown. The fuse was "IGSW 1", and I can't find any info on it. I even called AutoZone to see if they had info on what system it belonged to, but they didn't have any info on it. I've since replaced the fuse.
No info other than that though. I needed to replace a stereo switch behind the steering wheel, so I put the battery on a battery maintainer in the house. More info when I put the air bag back in.

Final update-
I called Dodge, and spoke with parts. They said the "IGSW 1" fuse is the ignition switch power, and everything I was experiencing was normal. I finished my work on the steering wheel, put everything together, and tested it out. Sure enough everything works as it should. As an added bonus I installed the overhead console this weekend, and it works like a charm as well.
No clue still how I blew the fuse, but everything works now, and no more blown fuses.
