Default No tailights or dash lights. Please Help

I have a 98 Durango V8. The other night I lost my dash illumination light. I found out the next day that my taillights were also out. I have brake lights, and turn signals. I have checked fuse 14 on the inside fuse box. It tested good but I replaced it anyway. I checked the 40a fuse under the hood, it also tested good, but I swapped it with a known good fuse just to be sure. This morning I was playing with the headlight switch a little bit and I found that if I carefully push it in just slightly I get my tail lights and dash illumination but now no headlights until I pull switch out fully, and then again no taillights or dash. do I need to replace the switch? Please help , my commute to work is before the sun comes up.

Sounds like that is the issue. Buy one at Advance and take it back if it doesn't fix the problem. Also, did you happen to be messing around with your cluster recently?

I will be doing that tomorrow. In the meantime, I checked a little while ago, and I still have hi beams when I I have the switch pushed in to get the tailights working, not sure if that makes any difference but at least I can get to work tomorrow without a ticket.

replaced the switch...no good...couple things though...I watched a how to video on replacing it, and they said there would be a bushing under the ****, dint find one...also didnt mention a secondary pair of wires that connect to the switch, which I have....The wiring harness looks like it may be burnt up on the 3 middle pins which I believe one is the tail lamp output.... I guess replacing the harness will be my next move.
