Default Transmission Pan Drain Plug

I did my transmission filter and pan gasket today for the second time on my 46RE. its been over 3 years since I did it last. I used a rubber gasket last time. My dad said to not use silicon. I didnt have that right type of gasket to skip the RTV So... It has leaked for over three years now. A lot. This wont be very detailed. Mainly wanted to show what I did for a drain plug. Because apparently putting a drain plug in a trans pan from factory is just too hard or expensive or something. I got this at the local parts store.

Its a dorman Transmission drain plug. Pretty much Identical to the B&M version. I didn't use the "put the threaded shaft through the hole and tighten it down" method. I cut the threads about 1/8 inch from the main part of the drain plug with an angle grinder. Drilled a 1/2 inch hole in my pan, took the coating off with a flapper wheel, and welded the drain plug to the pan.

Anyway, Heres the pictures. Don't make fun of my welds Oh, before I forget. I used the updated nylon/double bead rubber mopar reusable gasket this time. I will return to this thread to let you guys know how well it works. its supposed to work great Ive read. No RTV whatsoever. I did however put blue loctite on the drain plug bolt. Don't over tighten it, its just an o ring.
