Hi all,

I own a 4.7 2000 Durango. I am thinking about picking up another one. I went to see an 2001 R/T with 140k on it. Car has a bunch of bad rush including the tail gate which I probably see as a big issue since that will be hard to fix. Rust also behind the fenders (straight holes) lower part behind ground skirt. Also rust in the right quarter panel. Noticed some sort of leak on the power steering pump hoses at the bottom. My 4.7 also has that because my steering rack is leaking.

So aside from these issues took the car out for a drive. Then checked under the hood when I got back. I am hearing a ticking sound. I am thinking it could be a stuck lifter? Thought I would ask what people thought in general.

 

I'd suggest an automotive stethoscope to listen around to pinpoint noises like that.
