Default Brake lights won't light up!! Help!

Well, we have tried all of the obvious things on mom and dad's 1999 Duango. All other rear light functions (turn signal, reverse lights, lights when headlights are on etc) but there is nom power to the brake lights on either side, or the one in the top center of the rear window. Fuses were changed, and there is power to and through the brake switch, but nothing to the back of the truck. Any ideas?

Default Fixed!!

Well with much help from the FSM, we found the problem, the wire coming from the junction box to the tail lights themselves had been cut and had a male and female crimp on spade connector put in (this was a fire chief's vehicle, so it at one time had the while lights and siren set in it), and this connector had burnt up where one of the wires entered the connector, right there behind the driver's kick panel!
