2003 Durango- that has had the issue of the Security light and Service 4x4 light coming on and then after a few days it will turn off again. When this happens the volume and other controls on the back of the steering wheel will stop working but the cruise and controls on the front still work. The electronic 4x4 switch will also not work.

The vehicle will still run and starts just fine, I have not had it shut off and can run as long as I need it to. This has been going on for almost a year now. Recent the light has come on and it has decided to stay on. Before I just start throwing parts at it I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Most all systems route their function through the CTM behind the driver side kick panel. I was getting Security lights, 'svc 4x4' lights, and odd chime binging. Swapping the CTM fixed it.
