Default 2002 Durango 4.7L 4wd Issues

I just bought this vehicle two days ago. I bought with the understand that the 4wd actuator was bad and needed replaced. After a few days, I started tinkering around and found the 4wd fuse was missing. When I first replaces the fuse, the transfer case switch showed a read N with no 2wd light, on the 4wd was lit and it showed a service 4wd light. I then pulled the fuse to be safe. I took it to Aamco, replaced the fuse, and had them look at it, mysteriously, the 4wd was normal. It had his computer hooked up and it was reading it shift properly. How can this be?Is it normal? He did say there was s slight chance the actuator could be blowing the fuse. He told to switch between 2wd and 4wd over the next few days to see. So far it shifts over fine. It did blink for a second when I switched it over but stayed solid. One other time it switched to 4wd but the light moved back to 2wd.Im lost. Any insight would be appreciated. My apologies for a long post.

Sounds to me like actuator motor is going bad. Better to replace it before it shifts on its own at hiway speed and grenades your transmission

the light blinks while the shift is in process but not yet completed.

If the shift criteria are not met within a certain period of time it will stop trying.

if it stops trying the light for the connected position will turn back on even tho it is not the selected position.

hope this helps
