Hi I'm look for advice on what could be wrong with my Durango. I recently purchased a 2001 durango with a 4.7L engine 4x4. After doing some work to it I got it to start. It starts right up every time I hit the key. But it will only stay running for 3-4 seconds then it dies and the security light comes on. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Do you have the correct keys?

 

I am use the keys that came with the vehicle. They are factory keys and they start the vehicle. So I'm assuming they are the right keys.

 

sounds like an issue with the security system kicking in.
