I have a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT 4.7l that needs a new transfer case. I also own a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee L6 4.0l that I am parting out. Can I swap the transfer case into my Durango? It is either an NP247 or NP242. This would be a much cheaper option if able.

 

If the case bolts up to the 45rfe (not sure about that one) you might run into issues with the rear driveshaft. I think some of the Jeep transfer cases have a different tailshaft that won't work with the Durango driveshaft. Maybe that will be able to swap from your old case?
