Default 4x4 Front Axel CV Joint Problem

I was driving my 2002 Dodge Durango in the snow and I needed to put it in 4x4 and it started to make a grinding clinking noise. After looking at it all of the Bearing in the CV Joint area had punched holes. When this happened would I have lost all the transfer case fluid? Do I need to replace the whole transfer case?

The transfer case doesn't go near the cv axle, it's behind the trans. Sounds like either you have a leaky cv boot or a bad axle seal. If the front axle is losing all it's oil, you need to fix it before you keep driving, otherwise you'll ruin the gears.

The location of the part is in front of the transfer case. I believe it’s what locks in 4 wheel drive. Would it effect the transfer case ? Or can I just replace those bearings cover and seals?

The only thing 'in front of the t-case' is the transmission on the centerline of the truck, and the output yoke for the front drive shaft, which is on the driver side of the truck. Are you speaking of the front drive shaft to t-case connection?

Yes that is exactly what I am talking about.

Then no, you didn't loose any t-case fluid unless the seal pressed into the aluminum t-case front housing is leaking. If you can wiggle the drive shaft side to side, and the t-case output doesn't wiggle, then the CV is buggered.
