Question 98 SLT parts ID help

Howdy all. Tragedy has struck (literally) our beloved 01 R/T. While sitting still, my wife was rear-ended HARD by some dips!t talking on her cell phone. The front end of the little Vibe was totally destroyed and while the D didn’t look too bad, there was significant structural damage. The insurance company has determined it’s too expensive to fix and the vehicle is a write-off.

I had recently bought a 98 5.9l SLT with a good engine but blown tranny to use as a parts truck for the R/T. I’m now looking at fixing it for regular use. While looking things over I found 2 wires I’m not sure of the purpose of. I’ve attached pictures (I hope). In the first pic there’s a small black wire coming from part of a harness bundle, is it a ground wire or something else? In the second pic there is a breaker on the drivers side wall with one wire with a ring terminal that looks like it goes straight to the battery and the other side of the breaker goes through a grommet in the firewall & then to ?? This looks like it may be aftermarket? Any help IDing these would be appreciated.

Lastly will the brake calipers/rotors from the R/T fit on the SLT? I’d like to swap them if so as they are less than a year old.

Thanks for for all the great information provided by the members here! This forum has helped me a lot in the past.
Let me know if the pic attachment worked. This is my first time trying to use this site with my iPad & it’s being a little difficult.

Second one definitely looks aftermarket.

As far as brakes, I think they changed a reasonable amount between 98-00 and 01-03.

Ya, after some further looking it seems like that breaker was for a stereo amp that was mounted in the rear jack compartment at some point. Still not sure about the small wire in the first pic though.
Also, anyone know if the tranny cooler off the R/T would work on the SLT? TIA.

Is the trans cooler still part of the radiator in 01? In 2000 they moved the rad cap from the radiator to the upper hose.

IIRC the trans cooler is a seperate small rad that sits in front of the engine rad. The 01 is still at the shop so I’ll have to stop by & check tomorrow. The rad cap is definitely on the upper hose.

on the 01+ i thought the standard trans cooler was part of the radiator and the auxillary trans cooler was a seperate piece that sat in front of it, but my memory is foggy at this early hour.
