Question information center

Can you install an information center in a 03 Durango that didn't come factory... I know its possible but what im asking is what all needs to be taken out of a donor vehicle for everything to work. is there anything that is already there from factory even if it don't have one. I only ask because I put a 3rd row seat in mine and it is a factory 2 row and all the holes and brackets were there under the carpet

First you have to see of you have the connector hidden up there. It's a 12 pin. Though you can likely physically mount the big console there, maybe even connect it, it's just a PCI buss feed from the computer. I doubt your computer has the programming enabled to gather and feed that info. Example, it gets the OAT from the OAT sensor in the grill, which may not be in a lower model vehicle.

There was a thread somewhere out there on this subject. People have retrofitted them in. They posted all the harnesses you had to get from the donor vehicle and all the information needed to do this swap. Can't remember what year range they did though. Dodge sure changed a lot of things multiple times on the 1st gens.

Yep, there's a thread somewhere. I almost want to say that it said the later trucks were prewired for it? My 99 had the outside air temp sensor wiring, but not the sensor and didn't have the overhead wiring.
