Default 2000 Durango Rear AC Expansion Valve

Hi all,

Does anyone have a write up, link or instructions on how to correctly remove the side panels in the rear cargo area to access the REAR AC? Trying to find a definitive write up on the correct way to remove the plastic without destroying everything.
Thanks in advance.

Steve
Edit ****Ignore the above for the time being....reading the service manual (LIKE I SHOULD HAVE IN THE FIRST PLACE ) and am more confused than normal LOL. From what I am seeing, both the front and rear expansion valves may be in the engine area....totally winging it here so if any guru's have a good write up please feel free to share.

Thanks,

Steve

What year is your Durango? These had 2 different rear A/C systems. Mine is the overhead A/C only, and the rear expansion valve is under the truck along the passengers side frame rail. I have a 98. They changed to an overhead heat and A/C system later. The fan is in the very back of the Durango on these models, but sadly I don't know where the expansion valve is on them.

I have a 2000 SLT+ with the overhead A/C only. I will crawl under and check it later today. Thanks.

The A/C lines run along the outside of the frame rail before going up into the cab right at the B-pillar. Shortly before they turn to go up, you'll see the expansion valve encased in a plastic box to somewhat insulate it.
