Default need a miracle

i have been having trouble with this truck for the last couple months and would love to figure out what is going on. my durango starts up as if the battery is near dead, and it will not idle on its own unless i give it gas or play with the throttle cables (which seem to have a lot of slack). as soon as i let off the gas pedal, the rpms dive and the truck cuts off whether i am in gear or park. i can drive the truck if i accelerate while stopped or slowing down, but that is just dangerous and damaging to my ride...

'01 slt plus 4.7 4x4 170k
no trouble codes, no CEL
no vacuum leaks
new altenator
new battery and terminals

In my experience with this... I would first look at the throttle body for being excessively dirty. Not sure if you have done this but everytime I had this issue on my vehicles, cleaning it out really good fixed it.

My other opinion(others please correct me if I am wrong) a bad PCM? Waiting for others input tho.

I don't see any mention of spark plugs either replacing or checking? If they are old start there. Good time to clean the throttle body too.

I'd struggle to blame the PCM without much more exploration first.

i wouldnt jump straight to PCM yet either, it sounds like a low voltage issue to me, you said new batter (and terminals) but what about the main cables? corrosion has a way of getting inside the cables and increasing the resistance which presents the same as low voltage. at least battery cables are cheap.

Bad cables or bad connection at the power distribution center, the box under the hood the cables go to, corrosion under it could be a problem, a little farther fetched is this .... one time I had a problem much like yours and it turned out the starter was shorted inside, it would star car, barely, but it would not allow enough juice to run the engine, and it would drain battery after a few days.
