Default Sudden white smoke

Started our 2000 Durango 4.7 and had a sudden cloud of white smoke. No ticks knocks ect. Smoke disappears so we proceed down the road. Looked in the review to see a trail of white smoke and a burnt smell I immediately turned around and parked it. Great oil pressure, still plenty of power, no knocks and normal operating temperature, oil looks fine overflow and rad hose seems good and full, and don’t feel any blow by through dipstick. Haven’t had a chance to check it out wanted to see what everyone thought. Possible intake gasket? Head? Any input would be appreciated.

Check your coolant... how’s your level and have you noticed any loss of fluid. Sound like a head to me. We need more details tho lol.

Mileage, maintenance history, etc. Pretend we know nothing about your vehicle (which we don't). The more info you can provide, the better people can assist without having to ask you questions.

248k have always changed the oil every 3k haven’t had to do much to it engine related. All fluid levels appropriate colors and still full. Always ran strong and without any noises.(and still does) Replaced icv and tps 10k ago. Uses a half quart of oil every few months. The wife left the truck running the night before and somehow forgot to turn it off until I got home a 3hr hours later(no idea how) but it wasn’t smoking all gauges normal when I shut it off. Problem started the next morning when I started it there was a puff of smoke so I shut it off immediately. Restarted it and was normal then I went to head down the road only to notice what looked like the last stages of a sea foam treatment in my rear view. Drove it back home with all gauges still reading normal no check engine lights ect. Let idle for 10 mins to see if it’d clear up which it didn’t. Going to try and do a compression test on it tomorrow.
