Half shaft issues

Hey guys i just joined. So i was removing my front driver side half shaft and i had the rod come out of my transfer case with the half shaft and now it wont go back in. Any ideas why? Oh its a 01 durango 4x4 slt 4.7l

You mean like the CV Axle came out of the front differential? And now the rod part with splines won't go back in? Did you buy a new one or are you trying to put in the old one again?
