Likely answered.... Rear Shocks 8" lift....
Sorry if this has been discussed before. These forums have been around for so long searching is hard to do.
Please a little recommendation help here! I have a Gen 1 Durango R/T with an 8 inch lift. I am replacing the leaf springs and thought it wise to do the same for the shocks since I will be under there anyway! So now the question...... what shocks should I get? This isn't a "whats preferred" question so much as a technical question. I do not know the bolt hole diameter nor the length I should be looking at. The mounts are STOCK... both on the body and the rear end so nothing special there other than if someone knows the diameter of the bolt hole please. Also since it is lifted 8 inches.... it sits at about 18-19 inch bolt to bolt length on the shock... so I assume I would need a shock that collapses down to like 12 inchs and can extend to like 24ish?
This is where I need your knowledge to help me pick any shock that would work in my fitment. Only preference I might have - they be black!.... but of course this is not required. More need the right choice of a pair of rear shocks for this lift.
Thanks a ton for all the help and feedback guys/gals!
