oil leak

Default oil leak

about a month back i got my 2003 4x4 4.7 liter durango and i went out to go to the store real quick when i looked down and seen there was no oil pressure. it didnt have a problem when i was driving it earlier and i checked and there is no oil in the engine or on the ground where it is sitting. has anyone else had this problem, im thinking its the oil pan gasket but not sure any help is appreciated.

Either the sensor or the pump. Check with a mechanical gauge to verify. Would not be a gasket if nothing is leaking. Start by putting oil back in it.

I think no oil in the motor is the far bigger problem there. It had to go somewhere. Could have just burned most of it. I'd say step one is to put oil back in it and reassess.

You can speculate where a leak is coming from, but to be sure, you have to get under and look. Put oil in it, take it for a drive then jack it up on stands or on ramps and get under it with a strong light. You may need to do this while running, so be careful of moving parts.

You might have a head gasket problem or valve body gasket leak.
