Default Key fob programming

I have an 02 Durango lost the key fob And bought universal one from Auto Zone. Anyone know how to program it without the original one?

You need to have at least one working remote to program a second....

I believe keys are ok to pgm on your own if you have one, but not fobs. I believe fobs are a dealer job with their DRB3 (?) tool. I know I had to go that route when I swapped the CTM. I understand a CTM swap meant I did not have a working for for that new CTM, but I also could not find a writeup anywhere to do fobs, just keys.

if you have a working key fob(remote) you can program additional ones, not sure if the same is true for the chip keys.

if you dont have the one already programmed you need to have a dealer program the remote.

Not necessarily true anymore, fellas. It all depends on what you get. These are programmable without an existing remote. Probably the only thing I'd buy from Dorman.
