Default Need help with my dash

OK, so here is my issue.

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango 5.9L

I bought it used back in June. No problems.

Now come November, problems start showing up.

I have two problems with my dash.

Problem 1.

When I come to a stop or there is a certian amount of "gravity" pulling against the truck (I.E. going fast around a turn, coming to a stop) my check gauges light comes on, the oil pressure gauge drops, and then a few seconds later, oil pressure gauge comes back up. (can be up to 30 - 45 seconds but as few as 5) This really pisses me off cause it dings at me 30 times on the way to work....and it is only a 15 min drive.

Problem 2.

I have a blue indiglo gauge kit in my durango. I did not put it in, but I want to take it out. How do I get the gauge needles off?

There is a possibility that problem 1 can be solved if I can remove my indiglo gauge kit because it is just sitting there, its not stuck on......

Thank you in advance...
Jay

Problem 1. Stupid question but is your oil level good. Had a similar problem on my 2000 Durango. The oil level was a little low. Topped her off and good to go. Don't know if the oil movement from the "gravity" affects the pressure.

Sorry, can't help on problem 2.

I checked it last week and it looked fine. I am beginning to think it has to do with getting caught on the indiglo backing. But I will check the oil again.

When your check gauges light comes on, and your oil pressure drops to zero, that means one thing: engine sludge. This is a common problem in our models of Durango. I had the same issue.

All I did was go to an oil change station and had them do an engine flush. 2,000 miles later, I did it again(just to be safe). After the first one, I had no more issues.

Hope this helps some. I'd like to thing $50 per oil change will help me from having to replace my engine in the near future.
