2000 Durango 5.2 2wd

I cant find an identifying mark or sticker on the transmission anywhere.

Is there a way to find it from the Vin? I read in a different thread that it should be on the door tag? I couldnt see anything on their either.

research shows it should be a 42 or 44re, while other sites say 100% 44re? Just trying to get it right to further research this "not shifting it if first" thing!
