Seems I have a Leak into Jack Storage area. Help
So I have found a leak that I assume is from the roof some place that is ending up in the Rear Jack Storage compartment. I am at this point at a loss as first I assumed it was due to me removing the Roof Rack Rail attachment Bolts to clean under the Hold down side rails and reinstalled without using any sort of sealer. So I went a got some of the Flex Seal Paste ( I decided on this as I have used the Tape, adhesive and have had great results) I used plenty as I put some in the Insert as well as covered each bolts threads with plenty of the stuff and it worked on the drivers side as there is no longer any water in the rear compartment on that side but sure looks to me like the Passenger side has the same amount in it now (as it rained a lot today so I just checked now that it has stopped)
Could there be a seam or something I am not aware of I need to look at? I checked the rear weatherstripping and it looks great no tears etc as well as I tested it ( I used with lithium grease on seal to be sure it was contacting the rear lift gate and I found it seals fine)
I do know it is from the top some place as I can see some drops on the R side D pillar i think they call it (pillar where 3rd row seatbelt is attached) But from there I have no Idea where it can be coming from and do not want to remove headliner as I have no place to set it other then in the rain in the yard,
I was thinking about mixing some dye into water and using a spray bottle attempting to isolate sections to see if I can locate where it is entering from .
Any suggestions, I cannot just spray water on the roof as that will not show me the location just that it is leaking as I have already figured out.
I could clean up and re apply the sealant on the L side bolts again and see if maybe that solves it??
I just figured someone may have had this issue and had a trick or a location i Should look at.

Thanks

So after taking the roof rack rail holders off and sealing the heck out of them I still found a bunch of water in the storage area and could see it running down the D pillar I believe they call it.
Its been driving me batty. so I finally pu;;ed all the trim pieces off up to the A pillar to allow the headliner to drop down so I could look above it and that made it even worse as the entire roof was covered in moisture.
we have been about 20 degrees F lower then normal as well as had a bunch of freezing rain so any moisture inside collected on the metal roof.
I spent about an hour trying to figure how the water could possibly be entering and I remembered someone had mentioned the Rear Side windows (the ones with the Studs and 10 MM nuts) had leaked so I figured What the heck ill quickly just hose the window down and the water just poured in.
I have no idea why it started leaking as the nuts were tight and I can now see where it contacted the headliner then traveled back to the D pillar, Talk about misleading never imagined it would travel all the way to the rear like that and not once was the carpet wet or anything.
Now I need to figure out how to remove the window without breaking it as well as find a day when it is not raining so I can clean it properly and apply new sealer.
I am just glad I finally found the leak.
