Default Rear overload/Leveling springs?

When I was given this 2000 Durango Slt 4X4 the original owner had used it for towing and it had these additional spring devices on the rear, The 2nd owners did not know what they were just it came with them when they bought it in 2005, I am actually owner #3.
I am going through and replacing all the suspension bushings with the energy suspension urethane ones ( I got the complete kit F Upper and Lower Control arms, Rear Leaf and both sway bars Plus I am replacing the Upper and lower Ball joints as well as inner and outer tie rods (All the greaseable ones unlike what is on it now) I figure with a wee over 250K Mileage its getting them need it or not lol.
Back to the question these connect between the leaf axle with the other end hooking around the Rear leaf eyelet. I have not been able to find any info on them at all so would love the help if anyone could clue me in on manufacturer

. I am positive they have something to do with towing and helping rear end from squatting.
