Just got our 98 Durango back from the shop where they worked on the tranny. Now we have no backup lights. Is this something that should be somewhat easy for me to check and fix, or should I just take it back to the shop again?

 

check the prndl switch on the drivers side of the trans. It is a 3-wire switch toward the back of the pan about 2" from the pan rail screwed into the case. Maybe the connector wasn't plugged in all the way or that switch maybe bad(maybe it was broke)

 

Will do-- thanks. Is the 4x4 tranny the same as far as that switch goes? That's what we have.
