Default Rear Diff Noise

I have a 1999 Durango SLT (77K miles). Recently, after hearing a slight bang, I get a growl, seeming to come from the diff housing. It only happens above 20 mph while decelerating. Sort of has me puzzled with the over 20mph part. Not sure if it's related, but a few weeks ago the ABS light came on. Was planning on replacing the rear speed sensor before this happened. Any suggestions on what to check when I open the housing?

Check your universal joints. Might have one worn. Could also be ring and pinion, but it usually makes noise all the time not just when slowing.
