Default RE: 98 Durango Trailer Help

Thanks for the great post. I am camping with my durango this weekend. hooking up my trailer brakes at the last minute. My truck has 7 pin connector, so I thought I was cool, but I do not have factory wiring package. Went nuts looking for 4 wire connector under dash. I will be ordering factory setup. I have a question. Where does it plug in under the hood? did you figure out which wire on the pedal. I have mitchel so I can figure that out, but dealer is closed and I am going to hook up temporary wiring kit. just got to this forum. I am curious, does the factory tow package come with heavier trans cooler, and radiator?

Dfcar the radiator is larger and if I remember correctly from other posts there is an extra tranny cooler as well with that package.

I guess that unless you tow a lot or tow something heavy, you don't need the trans cooler or 3.92??? I hope that's the case, cause I sure ain't spending the bucks to pull my 3000 lb trailer 3 or 4 times a year for a few hundred miles each way.

hahaha i read all the post to the end thinkin i would find out what wire i needed to tap into, i am doin the exact same thing as the originator have the 4 way plugged in, used a 7 way socket for future expansion now adding the brake controller for my car trailer.

1) any one got this figured out yet and i already know there is no connector (not prewired) its a 2003 durango.

2) is there a way to wire up without splicing for the power/ground wires at least, i guess i'll have to splice for the brake (when i find out which wire lol) i'd like to not have to run str8 to the battery if possible as i have amp wires there already dont want it lookin cluttered.

Thank you all in advance

Thom
