Is there any way to determine what is causing the check engine light to come on other that taking it to the dealer and having them read the code? I have a 98 Durango and the check engine light comes on for a while then it will go out after a couple of days, then come right back on. The vehicle is running fine and I have not noticed anything unusual. Any help would be great.

Figured out that autozone will plug in and give the code to you for free, as well as, sell you the parts to fix it.
