2000 door panels/windows
I searched through the forum and found a few comments about this but nothing specific. Can anyone tell me hints/procedure for removing the driver door panel ina 2000 Durango? The drivers power window in my wife's Durango has suddenly stopped rolling down. the other three work fine...hoping I didn't burn a window motor...thing just quit. Any advice on removing panel so I can get in tehre and check?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
Wife is at work so I'll try to remember when I replaced the door spkrs.
First look for screws. Mainly where there is plastic.
Then start pulling outward from either bottom corner and work upwards.
The top of the panel hooks over the door itself. Once at the top, it needs to be lifted upwards.
Get some new door clips(you'll want/need to replace them)
Don't yank the panel right off before disconnecting the electrical wiring to the switch! There is some give to the wiring so you can manuever it to unplug the main switches plus the power mirror ****.

This is the wife. Tell your wife her D isn't haunted, I think they all have to be doing it. My problem was with the passenger side front door window. Went to KMart one day, it was spitting snow, just enough to cover the very bottom of the window, I hit the switch to roll the window down, and nothing. Never happened before. Got it back home, pulled in the garage, hit the switch, and down she goes. This was before Mike put new speakers in, don't know if he did anything with the wires and such, but haven't had a problem lately. I do know my front windows roll down very slow in the winter, but in the summer, they go a little faster. Then I get in his Ram, and it seems like he has a turbo button for his windows. Don't know what the deal is with mine, but boy do they go slow!
My '98 Durango was the same way as well. Driver side window took sooo long to go up, and all windows froze below 0 Celcius. Also, my passenger side rear window just stopped working one day, and was like that for a year. Never had any reason to fix it.
