Rear passenger, driver side window doesn't power wind down
Hi,
This (I think) is a common Durango (1st Gen 1999 Magnum) problem. The rear passenger, driver side window doesn't power wind down.
Also the power unlock on that door makes a very funny noise (but at least it works).
Any suggestions on the cause...
Thanks..Chris

Had the same problem. Live where the temp. is always above 80F. Funny thing was when I drove to Michagan during the winter the pwr. window started to work again. Replace the motor and placed muffler tape on the outside of the motor. Works great now.
Sounds like you have a loose or broken part. [sm=bangbang.gif]
I think you should take the door panel off and take a look inside. This might solve your problem. As for the window sounds like a motor, but then again you better take a look first.

Heres a easy way to check and see if your Power window motor is at fault. Remove the door panel.
keep your window switch connected, and hold the down button "with glass in up position". Tap on the motor with a small hammer, and see if it starts working. Sometimes you have to tap a little harder to get it to start working again. If it starts working, the motor has a poor connection internal" which can be Temp Sensitive". If it still does not work, check the connection at the motor and power to the motor with the switch pressed, and diag back from there.
