Hi,

Can someone tell me the proper PSI for the optional 31 x 10.50 15 tires that came with the SLT+ package? I look on the door for the correct PSI but it only shows the PSI for the stock 235 75 15's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What you can do is take some graph paper, or lined paper it doesn't matter. Then look at your tires and get the max tire pressure and load and start from the bottom, start with 0 and then increments of 100 on both the left and right of the paper, Then on the bottom put the tire pressure start with 0 and go across in increments of 2 then draw a line from the bottom left hand corner draw a line from 0 to the max tire load on the right. Now get your front GVWR and then your rear GVWR now draw a line straight across the paper at the rear GVWR and the same with the front GVWR then where the lines meet follow it down and it will give you the correct tire pressure. After you do that if you want you can do the chalk test where you draw a chalk line across and got in a straight line and look at how it wears but I've been doing it for years and it works. It originally came off of a moab review web site. My tires last a lot longer and I get better mileage also. I also run nitrogen in my tires.

 

My Tire reads 44 PSI MAX 2205 LBS
Front GVWR 1633
Rear GVWR 1770
The door panel reads 33 PSI
My front tires need 33 PSI
My rear tires need 35 PSI
So I keep mine at 35 PSI

I like to run between 36-38 PSI. Same front and rear.

 

31x10.50-15LT LRC Are all 6ply max pressure is 50Psi.
Run 40 psi all the way around to increase treadwear.in the summer/spring. Winter run about 38psi it makes the tire softer and the sipes open up to increase winter traction

 

i like to run 45 to50 psi like others have said they are a light truck tire.I think thats why they went to 16 inch on the new 01 up they are less max. press ride more like a car tire. 36 is ok to just keep a eye on them . alan

 

i have 235 75 15 on my dakota, i keep my psi at 40 and havent had any problems at all, also ran 40 psi on my S10 with 30x950's
