Transfer case, no reverse

Transfer case, no reverse
Well, here it is Friday Mem dat weekend 2006, I pull into a camp ground, try to back my travel trailer into a spot, and NOTHING..
2003 Durango SXT, 2/4 wd high and 4 wd low..
Forward speeds are fine. When putting into Reverse, I hear/feel the tranny engage, reverse lights come on....
Stepping on the gas pedal, I hear/ feel ther transfer case gears going (wrrrrrrr) but no movement.
4 wd lo does not engage....
Does this description make sense to what is happening? Any thoughts???
