Hi, my 2000 SLT did not come with running boards. Were they an option, or is it more likely that the previous owner removed them? Also, has anyone installed an aftermarket set that claimed to be to "OEM Specs"? If so, who made them, and are you satisfied with their OEM appearance? One more question, does anyone know an atractive alternative to the OEM running boards to add a little stying to the bottom of the truck (i.e side skirts/ground effects)? It just seems like there is something missing from mine witout them. I should mention that my preference is more a street performance look than an off road look. Let me know. Thanks guys.

P.S. - If anyone has removed the factory running boards and is interesting in selling them at a reasonable cost, let me know. Thanks again!

 

Only one way to know if they removed them or not, look under your body there should be two brackets on each side one right behind the front tire an one right infront of the back tire, i have a 99 SLT an they came factory an the body's didnt changed till 2003 so yes most likely they were an option, qustion being did yours come fully loaded, IE leather, power windows, alarm, ? An as far as getting factory one's installed good luck, dealership stoped carrying them 2 years ago along with most of the body pannels an trim, i'm in the process of redoing mine in fiberglass, my truck is from main so there is alot of underbody rust.. hope this helps ?

 

Yea, she's fairly well loaded (i.e. leather, woodgrain dash, all power options, heated mirrors, etc.) which really surprised me when I noticed there weren't any running boards on the truck. You bring up a good point though, I'll check out where the brackets should have been mounted and see if I notice anything that would indicate something was ther and had been removed. Thanks. And again, if anyone took there's off and is looking to sell them, let me know.
