Default URGENT - Help With Question On RPM's and Transmission

Okay, I was driving the other day on the highway, the transmission seemed to be acting up, then the transmission light came on. It has been idling high and the transmission has not been wanting to shift well, revs high then shifts and sometimes not until you take your foot off the gas...so we take it in to be fixed and the place says we were hot rodding it and the light came on because the internal computer is set to do that when someone revs it up to over 5000 rpm for more than 20 seconds. I never did that. I was going like 60-65 mph, not hot rodding, on my way to work, and it came on. It had been acting funny before then but they said it was fine. Anyone have the same problem or know a lot about this type of problem? Wouldn't it just come on if there was a problem with the freakin' transmission?
