Hello,

My name is Joe from NJ and I own a '99 Durango. I had a new oil pump installed at 108,000 miles and now it's at the dealer and they are telling me I need a new engine (for $5,000-$6,000) because of too much sludge build-up clogging the tube that sucks up the oil from the bottom of the oil pan. It's got 115,000 miles on it now and I'm wondering if I can have them install a new oil pan and flush out the engine to buy me about a months worth of time so I can get rid of it.
My e-mail is jae8870@yahoo.com. Thank you.

So you want to knowingly sell a car that has a critical mechanical problem to some poor unsuspecting person? Hmm, I guess ethical behavior is a thing of the past...

I own a 99 durango with 80K. I run synthetic oil with mobil 1 filter. I also flush occasionally. Sorry to hear about sludge problems, but I think it's all about what you put into it. Literally

I thought you must have one of those giant pump machines to flush the engine completely? Is this the half a quart you add to your engine, let it run for a few minutes then drain all fluids? LOL, Im still on the forums... currently on 24HR duty. Just bored with many questions.
