i have a 98 D slt. my back up lights only work for a split second when i drop it into reverse...is this normal or is the switch out of alignment and needs readjusted? if so where is it located at? im going out of state at the end of the week and am trying to fix the little things cops who are ****** will pull you over for

 

Not normal, but I don't know where the sensor/switch is located. So you are half way there.
