Well I had to hook up to the sewer where I live and had some left over piping. I also had a K&N air filter sitting around from my Mustang. So, after reading and doing some research I decided to try the "Homebrew Air Intake".

3" to 4" cuppling (air hat - PVC pipe) - $10
4" 45 degree elbow (air hat - filter) - $5
3" to 4" cuppling (PVC pipe - filter) - $10
K&N Air Filter (6" long x 7.5"w) - $60?
4 coats of Heat Paint - $10

= $100 CDN or so

Due to the size of the K&N air filter, I wasn't able to stick it closer to the fender hole where the cool air comes in. This was the only spot where I could put it and be able to easily remove the filter for cleaning.

When you stomp on the Gas, you hear the sucking of air through the air filter. I also noticed that the throttle responds a bit better as well. HP wise, I'd say minimal at maybe around 1-5.

looks like something my budy did to his truck. saved him tuns of money because he just had the filter hanging around too,... I mean if it is working not CAI but a non restrictive air intake at lest.. then again My intake is off ebay just a cheep nock off but it was only 80 bucks and it came with the piping and every thing needed.. I will have to change out the cheep air filter next spring but then I can put in a real KNN . Man I am a cheep ***....[sm=badbadbad.gif] but with gass the way it is can you blam me ..

 

That's why I decided to go for a Homebrew!

 

Looks alright. And hey it was affordable! Sometimes you got to do what you got to do to get bey.

 

Hell yeah getting bye is all I can do.. and while I am geting buy mise well do what I can I mean not every one has thousands of bucks like you hydra .. but maybe some day when I marry a really rich suger moma and I can get what I damn well please (its good to dream).
