I got ya', you may want to try and just remove the whole damned piece of rubber and see where that gets you it'll definitly keep that hot air off a lot better. Also the only thing you gotta do with 3 inch tubing is step on it a little to get it to squeeze past those ac lines. HAHA I'm sooo ghetto...
BTW how much was that SC? I would love to get one. How much did you gain?

Yeah I haven't seen the increase on my comp but I'm gonna check next time I do a fill up and try to keep my foot out of it. I would be happy with 13.5 in mine I'm only getting a little over 10 mpg right now and I do both city and highway pretty equally. You have the 360 right?
My D has the 4.7 V8. 355 gears.

Heres my rpm cruising at a little over 80mph.

Nope nothing other than that. I'm a daddy so most of my money goes to mom and the kids...
I think I need to check out my o2 sensor because I stopped driving like a bat outta hell for the most part and am still getting pretty lousy mileage.

i think around 3k or so. but i feel the biggest diff was getting the computer reprogrmmed. THAT made a HUGE difference. also the TB i got them done about the same time. i am still getting a ping in the higher RPM spectrum. i have done octane boost and have the 6a msd with the timing advance and have messed with that too. i dont get on it too much in fear of blowing something. but 0-60 is still just around 5-6 sec depending on the temp and humidity outside. i am still working on that DAMNED ping.

Ok guys I just filled up and the verdict is in... 2 mpg increase for 40 dollars
Actually it was like 1.92 but who's counting. I am now at 11.95 mpg and I have been driving faster. I have been going 80 instead of 75 on the freeway cause 75 just doesn't feel right anymore.

very nice meangreen... that will be better for your trip too.. high way miles are always better the more even if its just 30 moeris still big to me at lest.... have a question for you guys what could I do to insalate my tube from my intake.. its the crome tubing and has a KNN on the end I opend up the hood today and felt it and it was piping hottt.. I was thinking about putting something around it to sheild from the heat a little.. any body know what I can do ?? I was thinking some type of foam like what seals your car from getting watter in it but not sure how that would do in really heated spot.. thanks... JP

Maybe some spongy type of tape would help and also you could remove the rubber that is between the headlight and radiator that would keep the passenger side of the engine compartment a lot cooler. I am glad I did this mod I will get a k&n filter before I leave and it will end up paying for itself by the end of the trip and then some.
