I have a 2003 Durango SXT and I love it but I keep getting a trouble code of evaporative emmision control system malfunction and I was wondering if it was just a gas cap problem? It seems to happen after I fill up on gas. I make sure the cap is tight. I disconnect the battery and the light goes out and the code clears. Some assistance please

 

Yup get a new gas cap.

I left the check engine light on after the last time it came on and my wife put gas in it yesterday and I noticed that the light was out so I am going to get a new aftermarket cap this week. Thanks for the replies.
