Default Need help with 99 Durango

Hi,

I have a 99 Dodge Durango that dies on me. As long as I give it gas it runs fine, but as soon as I step off it dies. It has just started this issue. Plus now the abs and brake light is on. Any ideas why this is happening.

I just had the battery replaced as it died on me, now this.

i had a similiar issue.
it would die if i let it idle but i had to rev the engine to keep it going.
replaced the pcv valve ($2).
temporarily you can just remove it and leave the hose disconnected to get you to the store.
i've replaced it a couple of times along the way.

re: the abs light, and i'm tossing this out, i had this happen just before my speedometer went out too. and this was a sensor in the transmition housing ($40 and half hour). there were other postings on the forum re: this.

hope it helps.

Sounds like a vacume leak. Check the PVC valve.[&:]

i have had the exact same issues. Frirst, the stalling thing at a idle is because your battery went dead. My 99 D does the same thing. If i hold the RPM's at 1500 ( or as low as you can get it to run at)for about 5-10 mins it will reprogram itself and will run fine after that. This problem happends to me everytime i clean out my truck and i take too long and the battery dies because the doors are open. I know a guy who also has a 99 D and he has the same problem. Something with the computer rebooting.
Second, the ABS and brake light is on could be alot of things but i would start with the rear speed senser(input). Mine just had this problem as well as the speedometer wasnt working till i got to 30mph. This is typical for dodge. Easy installation. the senser is ontop ofthe rear differential and cost me about $28 from o'riley auto parts. hope this helps
