Default 4.7 tune up

I have a few things to ask about. #1 Spark plugs on the 4.7, where are they?? I'm guessing they are next to the injectors on the top of the engine, yes???. I have read a few threads about what type of plugs, I know " Dont' put platinum plugs in a non platinum engine". Are the Champion Platinum ok? I asked for the stock plug from the parts guy and that's what he gave me. How do you know if your engine is platinum or not? #2, O'2 sensors, How many does the 4.7 eng have? The parts guy said two required forward of the converter and after. I don't think so, I have not found two forward, just one. How often should they be changed? #3 the throttle position sensor, I got a code P0121 saying that there is aproblem with it. Does that mean it needs to be replaced or can I adjust it ? #4 While driving in town or the highway, the engine shudders and runs like crap. My wife has experienced stalling. The Idle surges pretty bad also. Is the fuel filter a possible cause? I changed the filter in my 96 Dodge conversion van and it was not fun. Anyu information anyone can provide would be appriciated.

Old bugs are so easy to work on.

What year is your, I assume , Durango? #1 Pretty sure 2001-2002 & I know the 2003 4.7 has the plugs on top by the valve covers with coil on each plug. #2 There should be a "upstream" O2 s (before the catalytic converter), and a "down stream" O2 s (after the catalytic converter). #3 first you should disconnect the TPS conn..and check for power from the PCM, if good , you need to connect the connector back in and back probe the center wire with key on and check voltages. Throttle closed is 0.35-0.90 v. Wide open is 4.5 v. Hope this helps. #4 I would fix the first problems, clear the codes and drive to see if it corrects the surge.
