Hi
I recently bought a 2000 durango with the 4.7l engine.
The day after I bought it the tranny started slipping so I took it to a dodge dealership and it cost $800 to replace a sensor which I thought was pretty steep.
The mechanic also said I need to replace the" FAN MODULE" because it was running hot.I decided to pay for the work already done and research the fan module which I have not been able to find anything called a fan module anywhere on the web.
Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.

 

Welcome to the site. What did he say specifically was running hot. The "fan module" or the motor. If he meant the motor he may have meant that your cooling fans were going bad and not cooling the motor enough.

Thats the problem,when I asked what specifically was wrong all he said was I need a" fan module" because the car was running hot.
The parts were $274 if that helps....

 

If he said the car is running hot it probably means the cooling fan isn't working properly. I just looked up the fan module. This is the info it gave me. Thats probably what it needs.
