Hello all,

!st off I am new to the Durango fourm but a long time member the 3 gen Ram forum, We just bought a 2003 durango SLT and it does NOT have the dimming rear view mirror. I can get the mirror but how hard is it to wire it up, Anyone done this and what are the steps

Someone told me its as easy as buying the mirror,installing it and then just pluging it in to my overhead console, is this right???

Never done that so sorry. But if it is self dimming than it sounds like all you need is a power source. Although if you need a something to trigger the self dimming then you might be able to do that.

If it is an OEM dimming mirror then there is a light sensor on it. That's how mine is...

 

I think I need a little more then just a power source, It will have a little 4 way plug I guess, I havent seen it my self yet but I really want to install the dimming mirror

If your D came with the digital overhead console, remove it. there is a plug wired in there for the dimming rearview. even if you don't have the digital console, and you only have two lights and a cupholder (weird!) the plug still might be behind the head liner at the window. give it a try.

 

THank you very much for the info, Yes it has the overhead digital console, This D is fully loaded but does not have the AUTO dimming mirrow, Weird huh?
