Default Tranny slippin or Brakes stick

Been noticing lately that when my 99 Durango 5.9L SLT takes off from start it seems to "jerk" forward or slightly hesitate. If I give it more gas it almost feels like the wheels aren't spinning as much as they should, though the RPM is rising. I also noticed that the oil pressure increases during this time.

When I am driving on the highway if I give her gas I don't feel the surge of power I used to feel. TheRPM raise butshe don't seem to take off like she did.

Is this a tranny issue or drive axel problem orjust a break stickin? I can't seem to pinpoint it.

Anyone had anything similar that they can relate to and maybe give me some insight? Thanks!!!!!

Oh by the way, anyone know of a better after market ball joint to put onmy Durango, I am tired of relplacing them every 12 months.........

I am having a similar problem too. It doesn't happen all of the time though. I also have a check engine light on. I pulled the code and it was a P0720, Speed Sensor Circuit. I haven't replaced it yet. Not sure how a speed sensor could cause that problem. If you figure it out let me know.

I dont know if you have tranny problems but i have oil pressure problems where it would drop down to zero every time i slowed down to a light. I got an engine flush on my next oil change and the problems went away. These engines are notorious for sluge build up so i recommend a flush with every oil change...

spicer 500-1094 is the uppers, 505-1270 lowers press in style, 505-1147 lowers reg. bolt in, i sell those with no complaints from my shops. If you want more info let me know. Plus there is still a recall investigation going on by the feds. Spicer use " new Tech" on their parts so u get a neoprene boot hitemp grease and low friction.

sounds like you need to raise vehicle see if all wheels turn freely, pump brakes a few times and check again.if all seems normal, drive awile heat up brakes raise vehicle and check again, all normal?if front wheel drags replace rubber brake hose.if no problem there, consider the trans touque converter.

bumbee,if you are useing motor flush beware of kerosene.try washing a metal part in it,then see how greese or oil adhears to it.not good.maybe try some rapid oil changes, say 3@500 mile each.a better way to flush a really sludged up moter is use trans fliud,it is very hi detergent.just drain oil add5 qt,s idle for 10 minutes.repeat till fluid is still red when u drop it.then repace filter add your oil wala.
