85 octane
What's up??
I've got an 2003 durango 4.7l. Put a K&N CAI and magnaflow on it but I'm still looking for more power. I've been debating whether or not to get a chip or a programmer.
The thing is I live and work in the Rockies, my house is at 9400 ft. So I've been using 85 octane fuel. I don't see or feel a difference in MPG or HP with a higher grade gas. Not only is 91 oc a little hard to come by around here, but it is super expensive, and most gas stations only sell 85, 87, 89. Anyway I guess my question is do you think a chip or programmer is worth the cost if I'm using a lower grade gas 87 - 89? Has or does anyone use a lower grade fuel witha chip or programmer?
