My husband and I are considering buying a durango. However, what experiences have people had with the 3rd row and car seats. I was told once that the 3rd row is only a half seat (shorter) and that car seats do not fit properly. Is the 3rd row a full size seat in the redesign of the durango? Just curious what people know. Thanks!

 

Are you referring to kids car seats? I have used full size and the booster seats in my 3rd row without any problems on my 1st generation Durango. I would assume it should be the same or possibly better fit on the 2nd generation.

For kids, its fine...

But a 5 foot 11 inch tall guy, meaning me, does not fit comfortably...
The 3rd row is very small, i most of the time lay down across it whenever im not driving.

 

hahah back when before I bought my d.. my parents had a 1st gen just like it. (hence I bought one after they sold theres) and I sat in the third seat on a road trip (6'00' 230 pounds I'm not the smalest guy).. its wasnt the best trip but do able.. for sure the third row is no prob for kids. my neices and nephiews love sittig there.. make sure to have the rear air though for that third seat cause it could get a little hot back there in the summer :-)..

 

I just got a 1st gen D sport. Is there anyway to add the 3rd row seat? I see alot of em on ebay but still need the seatbelts. Is there a kit?

 

I have two car seats in my third row and have no problems at all......I bought a 2007 dodge durango last year

 

I have a problem with my 3rd row seat belts not locking, i don't know if the mechanism is bad and I need to replace it, or if this is something that is common among the durangos. I have a 98 SLT.
