My 2001 D will be going in for the 2nd time in a week and third time total for the 455 code error. The first time the dealer said it was the tube that goes into the evaporator cannister and replaced under warranty. Last week, I took it in for this code to a different dealer. They charged me $93.00 to smoke it and found a loose clamp on the hose that was replaced. A week later, it came on again. Same code. Is this common on this vehicle? I know the dealer is going to try to tell me I did not put the gas cap on or some stupid thing like that. Any suggestions? Thanks. JIm[sm=smiley20.gif]

take it to another dealer if they keep messing it up would be my suggestion

 

Rock, I took it in this A.M. and this time they said it was my locking gas cap. Luckily they did not charge me. I will put the stock one back on and see what happens. If it does happen again, I will take it to another dealership. Jim
