Default Start my Thanksgiving with car problems....

Grrrrrr.....Well my wife took the D to day to work and run some errands, she breaks for a light and when it goes green she accels and the truck dies, it would not immediatle y start for her. It eventually did start and she mangaed to drive the 6 miles back home with it.....She said the engine light came on this morning, and it sounds like a fan is running. I figured she was hearing the fuel pump but I am not sure. This truck has under 30K miles on it. The other day the water pump crapped out so I fixed that. This is getting very frustrating. I am going home today to check the IAC, and the TB for dirt/debris.... I hope to God it is not the PCM. What a way to start my Thanksgiving holiday.......Any ideas on what could cause this?

If you have a 2000 or newer Durango you can get the check engine code off of the odometer. Just cycle the key three times and have a pen and piece of paper reasy to write down any codes on the third cycle. You can then check them here to see what's wrong and let us know what it said.

Thanks for the tip Mean Green, it says P 0344-CAmshaft Position sensor Intermittent....

So am I to assume it is going bad?

I still wonder why this is happening at 30K miles?

I just did a search and found nothing on it.

Try replacing that sensor maybe unless anyone else has any ideas.

It's located under the distributor cap. remove the cap, rotor and the round thing with electrical wires is the sensor. Slide it off, disconnect it from the harness and replace it with a new one.
