Default Fuel Pump life expectancy?

Read some good post that explained that the filters are in the tank and part of the entire pump assembly. I have a 5.9L SLT+ 4x4 with 75k on the odometer. Anyone have experience with how long these fuel pumps last and when should they be replaced? It would be cheaper to do this before it goes to avoid cost of a tow and having to remove a full tank of gas but I dont want to change it if they last a lot longer than 75K.

I have a 2002 SLT 4x4 with 97K miles. Still no problems with the fuel pump. Since the fuel system is pressurized, any problems would be detected right away.
