Default Small Vent Hose Dilemma....HELP!!!

We own a 1998 Durango and have never had a problem with it. Today, I noticed a puddle of oil on the passenger side below the right side of the radiator. Oil had sprayed from a small (maybe 5/16 or 3/8") hose which is connected next to the radiator pointing up. It has a small white plastic breather cap on it. The hose ran down the frame by the starter, but I couldn't see any further. The oil didn't smell like engine oil or transmission fluid, but had an odor kind of like oil from a rear end or transfer case.
Does anbody know what this might be?
I appreciate anybody's help,

Thanks,

Dave

Welcome to DF... sounds like your breather tube from the axle. did you get it serviced recently? you shouldnt have any oil coming out of it.
